The World Golf Championship (WGC) Bridgestone Invitational is being played at Firestone Country Club this week. Below is a chart showing the all time WGC winners. It truly is amazing how dominating Tiger Woods was during his career, winning 18 WGCs while only two other players have won more than two. Tiger played in the Bridgestone 14 times from 1999 – 2013 and won 8 times and came in fourth or better 11 times. His scoring average during these events was 68.2.
Additional News: Round 3 of the Bridgestone Invitational World Golf Championship has completed and Zach Johnson (65) and Thomas Pieters (66) are tied for the lead at -9. Hideki is 2 back at -7 and Rory is at -6. This is a long, tight golf course and anyone in the top 10 could win. My pick would be Pieters from the front or Rory Mcilroy making a charge.
As I mentioned a couple days ago, Dustin Johnson won the last two World Golf Championships for a career total of 5. He is at 1 over par after a poor second round and is 10 back and likely out of contention unless he shoots a crazy low round.
