Dustin Johnson started round 4 with a two shot lead and woke up to a windy and wet golf course. Unfortunately for the rest of the field, Johnson was unaffected by the conditions and shot a beautiful 65 and won by 8 shots. His round was highlighted by a kick-in eagle on the 433-yard par 4 12th hole. Yes, the hole was downwind and downhill but still an amazing shot.
For the week he finished first in strokes gained tee to green, eighth in greens in regulation, fourth in strokes gained around the green and sixth in strokes gained putting. He finished the week with 15 drives over 375 yards and without a three-putt. It is hard to beat that combination.
This week further solidifies Dustin’s hold on the #1 world ranking and if he can keep from falling down a flight of stairs like last year he might have a truly amazing year.
