Another category I plan to incorporate into my blog will be product reviews. This will include reviews of golf clubs, apparel, golf balls, and electronics. I will only review products that I have actually used. Like all golfers, my opinions will be based on my preferences and likes but I will provide unvarnished opinions on each product.
My first review will be on the Footjoy Hyperflex II golf shoe. Typically I play enough golf to go through a couple pairs of golf shoes every year. I have purchased shoes from many different manufacturers but probably half of my purchases have been with Footjoy. I have bought both spiked and spikeless shoes and for me they both work well even in wet conditions. I typically play golf early on the weekends and the tee boxes are still wet. My spikeless shoes work well in the wet conditions but on wet sloped fairways I have experienced occasional problems with traction. I also typically don’t like the look of spikeless golf shoe styles so that makes me gravitate towards spiked shoes like the Hyperflex II shown below.
I purchased the silver color although the special edition black model really looks good. I have played five rounds in the shoes and they were comfortable right out of the box and the spikes provided excellent traction. They still look brand new after five rounds and the quality seems excellent. Living in El Paso, it is difficult to provide feedback on truly wet conditions but as shown below, my first round with these shoes was at New Mexico State University Golf Course and when we reached #10 green the skies opened up and we got pretty wet. It rained for the rest of the round and the course was very soggy. The shoes held up beautifully and seemed to be waterproof. They were totally dry for my round the next morning.
I would definitely recommend these shoes to friends and family.
