Day 3 is in the books and Jordan Spieth looks in total control. He is hitting on all cylinders and shot a beautiful 65. Matt Kuchar shot 66 and got within 1 stroke late in the round but a great birdie putt by Jordan on #18 stretched his lead to 3. His great round also probably limited the players still in the mix to those shown above at -3 or better. Anyone further back would require Jordan to back up quite a bit and that is unlikely.
We also saw Branden Grace shoot the first ever 62 in a Major golf tournament. There have been a lot of close calls over the years and Branden finally did it. It was interesting to see how the average score on the windy day 2 was well over 74 and then day 3 was perfect for scoring. Day 4 weather is expected to also be perfect so we should see great scoring and hopefully a close finish.
